Our Maille print is based on European 4-in-1 riveted mail (colloquially, chainmail), a military staple from the Iron and Middle Ages all through the 16th century. Look closely and you'll notice that the design contains slightly off-color "maker's rings." In the Middle Ages a smith might weave a stamped ring with his insignia into a piece as a sort of signature on his work. These rings were often made of bronze or brass to differentiate from the steel links. Proudly wear your original Lorica maille wherever you go!
